Yeva is a character designed and concepted by Alexandra Douglass. As soon as I saw Alexandra's painting of Yeva I knew I wanted to model her. I was kindly granted permission to do so, and now I can show the finished piece.
Yeva is 6451 triangles, with a single texture of 1024x1024 comprising of the diffuse texture and an alpha channel for the edge detail of her loincloth. Her texture was hand-painted directly onto the mesh in Photoshop CC using the new 3D painting tools, which was an exciting new technique for me. I used Mixamo to create the initial rig and skin, then refined it in Maya to account for the loincloth and other features before posing her.
